As an experienced psychotherapist, I have specialized in working with neurodivergent clients, particularly in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). My practice is designed to meet the unique needs of these clients and to provide a supportive and respectful environment.
What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in human brain functions and processes. It encompasses different neurological conditions and differences, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This perspective acknowledges that neurological differences are not necessarily deficits but are part of the diversity of human experience.
My Services for Neurodivergent Clients
In my practice, I specialize in the therapeutic support of individuals with neurodivergent profiles, particularly those with ASD and ADHD. My approach includes:
• Individual Therapy: Tailored interventions addressing the specific needs and strengths of my clients, including adapted strategies for social interaction, self-regulation, and daily functioning.
• Accessible Practice: My practice is intentionally designed to be barrier-free, creating an inclusive environment. This includes dimmable lights, noise protection options, and accommodations for stimming, ensuring a comfortable and supportive atmosphere.
• Research and Continuing Education: For the past years, I have been giving lectures and conducting research on autism and ADHD. This scientific expertise directly informs my work, helping me provide up-to-date and evidence-based approaches. If you suspect you or a loved one might be neurodivergent I also recommend aquiring a diagnostic assessment through a clinician.
My goal is to offer a respectful and supportive environment where neurodivergent clients feel understood and valued. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange an initial consultation.
What is Autism?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological developmental disorder characterized by differences in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behavior patterns. Individuals with autism may have difficulty interpreting social cues and fitting into social contexts. At the same time, they may develop special strengths and interests in specific areas. The symptoms and their manifestations vary greatly, which is why autism is considered a spectrum. It is important to recognize individual needs and provide appropriate support measures.
What is ADHD?
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Individuals with ADHD may struggle with concentration, organizing tasks, and controlling impulses. These symptoms can affect daily life as well as social and professional integration. ADHD is divided into different subtypes depending on whether inattention, hyperactivity-impulsivity, or a combination of both main symptoms predominates. Targeted support helps manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
